Intravenous (IV) Therapy
Serving the Phoenix Area from Scottsdale, Arizona
Intravenous (IV) therapy is one of the “big guns” to treat chronic disease. IV therapies are often used as anti-aging treatments.
When oral medications and treatments are taken by mouth, only a fraction of the treatment is effective. Part is degraded by the digestive system. Only a portion of what makes it into the bloodstream is often filtered out the liver and kidneys.
Using intravenous (IV) routes, substances are distributed immediately throughout the body via the circulatory system. IV vitamin therapy is a faster, more reliable way to deliver medications, remove toxins, and circulate nutrients throughout the body.
The Naturopathic Physicians Group Uses IV Vitamin Therapies That Are Medically Sound and Part of A Whole Health Approach to Treatment.
The intravenous therapies at our clinic go far beyond the typical use of IV’s to quickly treat dehydration, correct electrolyte imbalances, deliver emergency medications, and for blood transfusions. At the Naturopathic Physicians Group, we have developed many IV compounds to help with a wide range of conditions.
After many years collaborating with experts and tracking patients’ responses, we know what to use and the most effective sequences for administering different IV compounds. We also know which IV therapy compounds must be delivered alone and not mixed with other compounds because they don’t react well. Each treatment is individualized. Patients benefit from our whole health, naturopathic medicine approach to care.
Who Can Benefit from Intravenous (IV) Vitamin Therapies?
We find patients get more ‘bang for the buck’ with IV treatments than with other approaches. Intravenous therapy is one of the clinic’s important and powerful ways to help treat chronic disease and other conditions and disorders. Patients with the following conditions have been helped with IV vitamin therapies:
- Acute/Chronic Infections
- Fibromyalgia/Chronic pain
- Chronic fatigue
- Alzheimer’s/Parkinson’s disease
- Heart disease
- Nutritional Deficiency
- Seasonal/Food allergies
- Acute strain or injury
- Heavy Metal Toxicity
- Eyesight/Macular Degeneration
IV Vitamin Therapies: Nutrient/Additive (+) and Subtractive (-)
Nutrient/additive IV therapies deliver carefully measured substances to the body. Subtractive IV therapies can detoxify the body of environmental, chemical or pathogenic toxins. Specific compounds flow through the bloodstream and chemically trap, neutralize and/or eliminate toxins from the body.
Intravenous Nutrient/Additive Vitamin Therapies are Designed to Add Substances to The Body.
Nutrient/additive IV therapies include:
- Nutrient therapy
- Glutathione IV Therapy
- The Myer’s Cocktail
- Ozone Therapy
- Neurological therapy
Intravenous Subtractive Vitamin Therapies are Designed to Remove Substances From The Body.
Subtractive IV therapies include:
- Chelation Therapy
- Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) Therapy
- Chelox Therapy
Dr. Michael J Cronin speaks more about IV vitamin therapy in the video below. Discover how one patient’s experience with chelation therapy was used to help remove heavy metals from her body.
One of my patients was a 20-year-old model who was suffering from chronic fatigue, emotional fragility, a wide variety of inflammatory problems.
When we did her intake and physical and diet diary, we started a number of things, but what was most prominent was the amount of water-based tuna that she ate in order to maintain her weight. So high on the agenda was to test for heavy metals.
Heavy metal testing is done by doing a chelation challenge test. We measure the levels of minerals that are stored in the body and in the bones for 14 different elements. Well, she was in fact very high in mercury, in fact, normal should be no more than 10 parts per million. And she had over 120 parts per million.
So we got her on a good diet and then started chelating her and gradually that number came down from 1:20 to 100 to 70 to 60. As it did, her energy returned. we did it slow enough so that she was able to handle the chelation process, as well as instituting the dietary things that would keep her in good stead in terms of her, her weight.
This was generally referred to as environmental medicine and it represents a component of naturopathic medicine that I describe as “the medicine of subtraction”. (Note: Chelation therapy is a medical procedure whereby chelating agents are administered (intravenously, intramuscularly, or orally) to remove heavy metals from the body.)
For many people, they may have food allergies; foods that irritate their body and irritate their sinuses. So when we have hayfever we try to separate people from pollen, dust, and mold. When they have food allergies, we have lab tests that identify them, so maybe they remove dairy and the wheat from their diet. When they have a heavy metal toxicity, we try to identify the source of the heavy metal and try to eliminate it via this method we call chelation.
And then there are also on the medicine of subtraction in terms of just stress and decreasing your, your daily stress level. So, although very frequently we’re adding nutrients and we’re adding supplements, or the medicine of subtraction in terms of solvents and metals and toxins, ways as an important component of naturopathic medicine.
