Dr. Steven Katz joined Naturopathic Physicians Group in July 2013 after doing an extended internship with them.

During his clinical education, Dr. Katz worked for a year and a half at the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS where he developed and implemented protocols to strengthen the immune system’s ability to fight both acute and chronic illness. Dr. Katz worked for nearly two years in alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers including a halfway house, a walk-in recovery center, and a live-in treatment facility. During these rotations, he was trained to detox patients with substance abuse while restoring and balancing their brain chemistry using naturopathic protocols including oral and intravenous nutrient therapies. He uses this skill to help patients with anxiety, depression, and insomnia in addition to addiction recovery and smoking cessation.

Dr Katz has also been trained in pain management in which he addresses the problem in a patient centered approach. He treats pain with acupuncture, physical medicine, prolotherapy, platelet rich plasma therapy, and stem cell therapy. Dr Steve has also had experience treating digestive disorders such as food allergies, acid reflux, Crohn’s Disease, and Ulcerative Colitis. Dr Steve works with each patient to develop an individualized plan to help treat their condition. He believes in balancing the body’s biochemistry to help restore proper function. He has skills in brain health, acupuncture, IV therapy, nutrition, acute/chronic illness, and pain management.  Since graduating, Dr. Katz has continued his education and become trained or certified in advanced restorative treatments such as ozone therapy and adipose derived stem cell therapy.
